The following story was furnished by the Historian, Mr. Jerry
Whiting, of the 485th. Bomb Group. The story was written by the then Bombardier-Navigator
of B-24 49393 which was reported in the Mission Narrative of March 4, 1945.

Pg.2 "...was observed to lose altitude over the target
(Szombathely) and to take a heading to the East (Russian Front ) escorted by
several P-38's. This aircraft later reported by radio that it had landed behind the
Russian lines at Szedebed (sic)."

Az itt következõ elbeszélést a
485-ös Bombázó Csoport történésze,
Mr. Jerry Whiting juttatta el hozzánk. A 49393 számú B24-es
repülőgép akkori bombázótiszt/navigátora
irta ezt a történetet, amely az 1945. március 4.-i Bevetési
Jelentésben is szerepel. (második oldal):
A 485-ös Bombázó Csoport 1945. március
4.-i Bevetési Jelentése, 2. oldal: "...látták, amint a
repülõgép a célpont felett veszitett magasságából, és
néhány P38-as kiséretében keletre fordult. Késõbb
ez a repülõgép rádión jelentette, hogy az orosz vonalak
mögött, Szedebed-en (sic) landolt."
